The Public Ministry of Jesus Begins

Mark 1:14-15

14. Now after John was arrested, Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the gospel of God,
15. He said, “The time is fulfilled and the kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the gospel!”

Matthew 4:12-17

12. When Jesus heard that John had been arrested, He left Judea and returned to Galilee.
13. While in Galilee, he moved from Nazareth to make his home in Capernaum by the sea, in the region of Zebulun and Naphtali,
14. so that what was spoken by Isaiah the prophet would be fulfilled:

15. Land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali, along the sea road, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles! 
16. The people who live in darkness have seen a great light, and for those living in the shadowland of death, light has dawned.

17. From that time Jesus began to preach this message: “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.”
