The Escape to Egypt

Matthew 2:13-18

13. After the Wise Men had left, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, “Get up, take the child and his mother and flee to Egypt, and stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to look for the child to kill him.”
14. Then he got up, took the child and his mother during the night, and went to Egypt.
15. They stayed there until King Herod died. So the words the Lord had spoken through the prophet came true which said: “I called my Son out of Egypt.”
16. Then Herod, when he saw that he had been outwitted by the wise men, flew into a rage. He gave orders to massacre all the male children in and around Bethlehem who were two years old and under, in keeping with the time he had learned from the wise men.
17. Then what was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled:

18. "A voice was heard in Ramah, weeping and loud wailing, Rachel weeping for her children, and she did not want to be comforted, because they were gone."
