Jesus Heals Many People

Mark 1:29-34

  1. After Jesus left the synagogue with James and John, they went to Simon and Andrew’s home.
  2. When they got there, Jesus was told that Simon’s mother-in-law was sick in bed with fever.
  3. So He went to her bedside, took her by the hand, and helped her sit up. Then the fever left her, and she prepared a meal for them.
  4. That evening after sunset the people brought to Jesus all the sick and demon-possessed.
  5. In fact, the whole town gathered around the door of the house.
  6. So Jesus healed many who had various diseases. He also drove out many demons, but he would not let the demons speak for they knew who he was.

Matthew 8:14-17

  1. When Jesus arrived at Peter’s house, Peter’s mother-in-law was sick in bed with a high fever.
  2. So He touched her hand, and the fever left her. Then she got up and began to serve Him.
  3. When evening came, many people controlled by demons were brought to Jesus. And with only a word he forced out the evil spirits and healed everyone who was sick.
  4. This fulfilled the word of the Lord through the prophet Isaiah, who said,
"He himself took our infirmities, and bore our sicknesses."

Luke 4:38-41

  1. After leaving the synagogue that day, Jesus went to Simon’s home, where He found Simon’s mother-in-law very sick with a high fever, and they asked Jesus to help her.
  2. Standing at her bedside, He rebuked the fever, and it left her. And she got up at once and prepared a meal for them.
  3. As the sun was setting, all those who had any relatives sick with various diseases brought them to Jesus. He placed his hands on every one of them and healed them.
  4. Demons also came out of many, crying out, “You are the Son of God!” But he rebuked them, and would not allow them to speak, because they knew that he was the Christ.
