Faith Brings Peace

~ This post is not listed in chronological order ~

Romans 5:1-11

  1. Therefore, since we have been declared righteous by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
  2. through whom we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in the hope of God’s glory.
  3. Not only this, but we also rejoice in sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance,
  4. and endurance, experience; and experience, hope.
  5. And hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. [Note]
  6. For while we were still helpless and without strength, at the appointed time, Christ died for the ungodly.
  7. For rarely will anyone be willing to sacrifice their life for a righteous person, yet for someone who the world considers a good man some would eagerly give their life.
  8. But God demonstrated far greater love for us, in that while we were yet sinners and enemies of Christ, he died for us.
  9. Much more then, because we have now been declared righteous by his blood, we will be saved through him from God’s wrath.
  10. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, how much more, since we have been reconciled, will we be saved by his life?
  11. So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made atonement for our sins.
Notes
  1. Rom 5:5 ~ Personal Note:
    1. In other words, the “love of God” in our hearts so satisfies the soul that life disappointments are destroyed and this “love of God” gives our lives meaning and purpose. This love causes us to no longer live for ourselves, but we now live to be a blessing to others and to God. [←Back]
